A day trip to Xcaret

-17 °C

Xcaret !
12 in the day Friday the 7 of september all students were outside our school Playalingua
Thank God it wasn’t earlier because almost everybody had been out the night befor to check out Playa Del Carmens party life (good good…;)

Xcaret is a big ecotourism park not so far away from Playa. Heres a link for those who want some extra info : http://www.xcaret.com/

We were met by parrots, flamingos, green grass and Maya inspired buildings. I the park you can see all kinds of animals ( panthers, butterflies, turtles, dolphins, fish and so on)
There was a Mexican cemetery built on a small mountain. There were disagreements if the graves are real or not, but some were at least real. The point was to see a Mexican cemetery. It reminded me of a mix between Spanish and Norwegian cemeteries. All of the graves were special. Some had a stone, other castles, cross, houses, statues of animals, pictures of saints etc. One grave was decorated with Corona corks hehe…

You could walk inside this mountain and when you got to the middle you could see a cross that stretched all the way towards the top.
There was a peaceful feeling inside that mountain. Not so far away there was a church. I could so picture a romantic wedding there! With the wind blowing so the brides dress moves, while a little girl is walking in front of her throwing rose leaves… and the view to the sea with some palm trees in front… lalala… I disappeared into a white dream hehe... ill get back to that dream in hm.. about 10 years ;)

There was a Maya village there aswell and the whole park is very beautiful made. You can swim with dolphins, eat at a restaurant towards the beach :)
There was a genius stone in the park somewhere. Is was hanging from a chain:

A dry stone means it is raining

A shadow under the stone
means a beautiful sunny day

A moving stone means
strong wind is blowing

If the stone turns wild then run
for shelter it is a hurricane

If ever its white on top
believe it or not it is snowing

If you can bearly read this sign
hurry, “ Xcaret spectacular
Mexico” has just begun.

Walking to the parks biggest show was a special experience. There were Maya worriors, and Maya women on the sides. With beers, coca cola, and snacks in place we were ready to see the show.

It was amazing ! 250 actors showed us the Mexican history from the Mayas, to the present time. We also saw dances and heard music from all regions of Mexico.
I really recommend Xcaret if you are near Playa Del Carmen !
